PARADISE
and Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison arranged a training session for the midwives. Dr. Maimoona Ali delivered a lecture on safe delivery methods. The presentation covered the topics related to safe delivery methods at home, methods of preventing complications and infections during and after delivery. Importance of tetanus vaccination during pregnancy was emphasized to prevent the deadly condition both in newborns and mothers who are more prone to this infection after delivering the babies at home. Use of sterilized cord clamp was emphasized instead of using thread for tying the cord after delivery. It was also stressed upon the midwives to wash their hands thoroughly before handling the patient and the newborn. The use of clean sheet, towel and necessary equipment was also stressed.
